The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

To anyone in the city above the pristine moat, it would have been a nostalgic sight, a boy and his pet (abnormally large, striped dog?) romping in the cool water. The lad himself was clad only in a pair of rough-looking trousers, the rest of his garb- which obviously identified him as a carnie- was left in a pile by the green shoreline by the water's edge. Laughter and splashes could be heard, but still faint, from the city above. The scene was one of peace and seemed to bring the hassle of constant traveling and patriarchal strife to a standstill.

"Hey! Stop that!" The Persian boy, small for his age, pushed the tiger's sloppy maw away from his face. Undeterred, the big cat continued to roughly lick Faraz's face like any normal pet would do. Truthfully, he wasn't supposed to take the animals out of the Ragtag's grounds, but he had pets with three-inch incisors and a constant appetite. Who was possibly going to contest that? Grappling with his tiger's huge paw, Faraz slung around the tiger's back, grabbing its thick, stripped fur like a horseman. While most bystanders would have shied away from the prospect of being so close to a tiger, for the Ragtags, however, it was normal to see the scrawny boy ride the carnivorous feline with nary a hint of fear. The boy and cat sloshed around in the water, occasionally chasing a fish or two for supper later that evening. They were a strange pair, that was for sure, but inseparable nonetheless.

"Y'know," he said to the cat whose throat rumbled as Faraz ran water down its back, "I could get used to a life like this." His young face frowned as the innocent thought fled from his cynicism, knowing all to well that after this rare moment of peace that it would be back to performing for pennies a day, putting up with his brother, and wishing every second of the way that he was back home. "It's not fair," he heaved a sigh as he lay in the brisk waters, bobbing on the surface like a buoy. The tiger's tail flicked through the water, conveying a sign of agreement. It wasn't the same as the wide open Caspian sea Faraz was so used to playing in, but it was as close to home as he could be at the moment. Such a perfect, peaceful, but short-lived moment indeed...

Blodeuwedd was stiff with fear, a boy was here, one just one the cusp of adulthood. Her state of dress or therefore lack of one was currently distressing her. She was a considerable distance away and he and the striped dog thing? seemed to preoccupied with each other to notice her. Wading gently to the shore she quickly dawned her damp clothes in a haste not to be seen and therefore risk her chances of marriage. Blodeuwedd was a firm believer in all Christian teachings however she loved the feel of the freedom of her bare skin making contact with the water. It had been so long since she was alone, and she was starting to feel suffocated by the carnival. A quick dip in the beautiful water that she so desperately missed from her homeland felt like a blessing in disguise but now it just felt like a nightmare. She became to entrapped in her own musings to notice that her pants had snagged around her ankles and sent her off kilter towards the edge of the muddy bank.

“Shit.”

Realizing what she had said after falling in, her face turn a bright shade of scarlet that would even have the red welsh dragon, leek green with envy.

((You guys can work this in later I just was excited to post))

Arash felt bad for almost killing that man. Then, his opium supply was cut. He found someone who sold opium, so it wasn't like Arash would be without the drug. He did have to pay for it, now. The opium took a good chunk out of the money Arash had saved up for his family. He wasn't supposed to spend that money, that was why he wasn't going to return to the caravan to smoke. Anyways, the people were probably sick of him stinking up the place.

He assumed nobody was near the lake. He gathered a small bag of everything he needed and walked toward it. Unfortunatly he was wrong.

Somebody was in the lake. Arash's little brother was in the lake. Then somebody else? It was from a distance. Arash would have beat his little brother so hard if he saw him swimming with a naked girl. Arash did not realize the girl was naked.

He stopped.

Admittedly, he Arash felt bad for his little brother. Arash was the one who commited the terrible sin. Faraz was obnoxious, but Arash knew he didn't need to suffer like this.

"Hey, brat! Go back to the caravans!" Arash shouted, in their shared language. Even if he felt bad, it didn't mean he had to be nice. "Your stupid friend too!"

Her heart broke in two, someone had noticed her, she realized as harsh sobbing noises escaped her mouth. Bel wrapped her arms around her body to cover herself further and collapsed in on herself in a fetal like position away maintaining her distance from the familiar men. She had committed a sin, a huge sin, what would St. David think of her now? ((She thinks she has never met him but maintains a personal relationship with scriptures))

She made a mad grab for her t-shirt, which was difficult as her body was still crumpled in on herself. With one hand she pulled it over her head covering her skin but it still did not relieve her feelings of anxiety. She did not know there would be people her and she hadn't bared her flesh intentionally knowing so. She must of looked like a cheap who-....ho-..... a cheap lady of the night. Even now her mind struggled to deal with the concept of how much she embarrassed herself. The buttons of her soaking wet overalls snapped closed and she made climbed on shore thoroughly distressed. Bel's hands ran over the green grass looking for her glasses, tears running down her puce face.

The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty Re: The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

Post  Major Glory Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:57 pm

Amid all of the tomfoolery and horseplay, Faraz didn't notice anything amis in the surrounding area. That is, until the frolicking tiger stopped short, hackle raised and growling. Faraz shut his mouth and listened. He thought he heard someone's voice, but it was softer, perhaps female? "Hello?" He called out in heavily accented English, trying to discern who the voice belonged to.

Aha. So it was a girl! It was hard to tell from a distance, since she was obviously swimming quitely enough for the boy and his pet to continue undisturbed, but it was definately a female. Stroking his tiger's neck to soothe it, he dogpaddled a little closer, curious about the new arrival who had just tumbled facefirst into the muddy banks of the river. "Hello? Are you--" Oh God/Allah/ whatever was up there. Faraz froze, vocal chords equally numb. The new girl, who looked only a few years older than him. She was half-naked. Faraz wasn't as conservative as Arash, but that didn't mean he didn't respect the rights to feminine privacy, not that Bel was currently supporting that theory, which is what threw Faraz off.

Stammering an apology, he thrashed through the water, clenching his tiger by the scruff of its neck for support. It was at times like these he cursed his light skin, the blush was heavy unlike his older brother's. Speaking of which, the older youth was walking towards the waterway right now. Faraz narrowed his eyes as Arash suddenly barked at him to go back to the caravan with the girl. Didn't he see that she was nearly nude? Figures as much, he sneered at the Iranian. The boy had learned not to expect anything of value to come from Arash. Nothing ever did, ever had, and ever will.

"Oh, what? Who died and made you Shah?" Faraz, face red from irritation now than embarrasment, shot back at Arash in Farsi as well. "You don't tell me what to do! And her either! She was here before me, so back off!" For added insult, Faraz boldly shot his brother the infamous "thumbs-up" gesture, an extremely crude insult in Iran and several other countries. "Don't you have somewhere important to be? Or are you just going to cuddle that ratty-ass coat you brought home? Useless! Just like you!" Then Faraz heard sobs escape from the girl behind him. He turned around in time to see her fumble across the ground, searching for something. He really wanted to help, but she really needed to get dressed first. "Look what you've done now!" Faraz motioned to her, moving in her general direction to obscure Arash's vision. "All you ever do is make people cry! You go back to the caravan! Go!"

Arash could not take that sort of disrespect. How dare his little brother speak to him like that?! He dropped the small bag he carried his opium in, and stormed down the path to the lake. He didn't care that there was some other girl there. As he got closer, he realized just why that girl seemed so distressed. She was getting dressed?

Arash stopped for only a second.

Faraz must have been doing something dirty with her in the water.

That little shit.

He was furious at his little brother. How dare he do something like this? Just because he boy did not have a father or mother with him did not mean he could dismiss his morals like this. Arash knew to never even look at a naked girl. (Though given the chance to actually see a new girl, he might or might not sneak a peek..) He was 18. Faraz, Faraz was already up to this step. At 12 years old?

He smacked his little brother as hard as he could, as soon as Arash had reached him. A shove into the dirt followed that. The action was done so suddenly, it must have seemed strange to the other girl.

"What in the name of God are you doing?!" His tone was indignant. Arash was tan, unlike his brother, he did not get red very easily, but there was some faint trace of red on his skin. "What were you doing with this girl, Faraz?!"

"And what are you doing disrespecting me!?" He leaned down to slap him again. "I am your older brother! Do you understand me?! Our family is me, my maman and you! I have Baba's role now, so you listen to me! You would never treat baba like this! You treat the man of your house with respect, Faraz! You treat your older brother with respect!" Arash was never a very good older brother. He was technically in charge now, since they were technically without their father. As the authority, Arash figured that this was his role. He had to be strict, if anyone was going to believe him. He didn't always want to, but he felt he had to. He couldn't stand when Faraz disrespected his authority.

The boy got a fist, now. "What are you doing with girls!? Think of your decency! Think of the image you're allowing yourself to have! Think of the image you're projecting on me!"

Bel had finally located her glasses with a painful crunch under her knee, the left lens was cracked. She muttered a please dear lord save me before tugging her shirt over her stomach. She was fully dressed finally albeit soaking wet and much much worse for wear. Her vision turned towards the the two males as she could not call them men since one looked so young. She honestly felt like throwing up when the unintroduced Arash hit him. But when heard his accusations a new level of red rose to her face not one of shame but one of pure anger.

“H-His Mod-Modesty?!” Bel could not stand the thought of robbing this child of his god given gift reserved rightfully for his wife.

“I-I-I di-did no SUCH THING!” Her fists balled turning a white color “I di-DID NOT KNOW HE WA-WAS TH-there!” Bel's voice finally broke from her enraged tone, she was not used to having to speak this long. “I re-resent the ac-accusatio-n that I had in-tenionally com-commited such a hi-hideous ac-act! I-I tho-thougt no-no one el-else wa-was around! Oth-Otherwise I wou-would not-not have do-ne so. Pl-please for-forgive m-e for-for my rude-rudeness bu-but Hi-HE is-s not to blame.”

Her chin was resolute and square, her Eleri had long ago taught her to stick up for herself otherwise no one would. A bag of something caught her eye, quickly she snatched off the ground and held it in the light. It was some sort of drug, her days as a mule had taught her that, but her Eleri also taught her another important lesson 'always get leverage and turn the tables.' She stuck out her hand “I-I be-believe th-this is your-s sir.” A glint of determination shone through her puffy red eyes, the shame she had felt was nothing compared that to a man taking mind-altering substances. But she would not justify her mistakes but neither would she for the man who would hit a child.

The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty Re: The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

Post  Major Glory Fri Mar 04, 2011 5:50 pm

Faraz got out of the water, approaching his brother to confront him and let him have a piece of his mind. If Faraz was going to fight, he'd fight to at least have the last word. However, the sudden (but not entirely unexpected) flat side of Arash's palm flew across Faraz's face. The boy stumbled back into the dirt, momentarily dizzy from the force of the blow. "Hey! What was I--!"

Another smack halted his ascent, sending him flailing to the ground once again. Now he was pissed. Not only did his brother accuse him of fooling around with a girl he didn't even know, but he didn't even get a chance to plead his case. This sort of thing would never have happened if they were back home. "You asshole! I didn't even know she was here before! I just came here to give my tiger a bath!" Said tiger was advancing quite close to its master, prepared to defend Faraz from the battery. Faraz motioned his pet back, shakily standing up again to face Arash, this time with fists raised. "You're right about one thing: I never, ever would do anything despicable against my baba, because he was never as incompetant as you!" Faraz kicked his brother in the shins violently. Even if Arash's legs were tree trunks, Faraz would kick them down no matter how long it took. "And who are you to talk about morals?" He spat, annunciating each word with another strike. Then Arash sent a fist sailing into Faraz's face. He felt something pop in his nose, the tell-tale streams of blood began to drain onto his chin. Cursing and feeling less than incapacitated, the boy recoiled on his rear, cradling his broken nose. Beaten but not silenced, Faraz continued his diatribe.

"What man? I don't remember you ever coming close to such a thing! You're just a brat and a homewrecker who never pulls his own weight- and what's that? Opium?" Faraz turned his rage to the abandoned bag Arash had brought earlier. Snatching it out from his brother's feet, he flung it into the water, the powder dusting the surface. "Listen to the lady, Arash, or is your head stuck too far up your hypocritical ass to hear or think anymore?" Indignant and fatigued, Faraz resorted to spitting at his older brother's feet, too exhausted to throw any more punches. "What am I projecting?" He scoffed unsuccessfully through his clogged nostrils. "Why don't you ask her," Faraz nodded to the mousey woman who was kind enough to stand up for him and her own dignity, "I bet all she sees now is a self-righteous jerk who has nothing better to do than get stoned and assault his baby brother."

The Persian boys eyes narrowed, totally unconcerned that he literally sat at the mercy of his much stronger sibling. "Better think about that, because I couldn't care less about respecting you. You're not my baba. You're hardly even a brother, more like a selfish brute if you ask me."

Post  MOSSAD TRAINED SHARK Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:14 pm

Arash was going to address the other girl, and grab his opium back. Then the little shit's foot was jammed into Arash's shin. The older boy couldn't do anything except stumble down. How dare he treat Arash like this?! Arash would certainly not have to deal so harshly with him if Faraz only behaved like this on occasion. No, Arash's authority was always denied. There was only one way to really teach Faraz some respect. That was by using violence. He stumbled back up. Faraz's kick was strong, the bruise there would be pretty obvious. Not as obvious as the bruises that Faraz was going to be given.

His opium was in the water by the time he regained his footing. Arash was furious. Did Faraz realize how expensive it was?! And this new girl just let Faraz take it! The bitch. The verbal attack of Arash's authority was enough, as it was, and now Faraz did this?!

Arash gave the boy the toughest slap, yet. He hoped it gave a strong enough force to give the boy some sense.

"The only thing this girl sees will be a boy who does not know how to respect his older brother's authority! I'm your older brother, Faraz! Do you understand what that means?! Baba was not able to control our family! I will be able to! I'm in charge now! You will treat me like you treat baba!" He tried to imitate the way his father scolded them. Arash was not his father, though. He wasn't technically even part of the family, anymore. "You don't realize everything I do to keep us all okay and all together!"

"If you ever.... If you ever treat me like this again, just you wait! When you disrespect me, you're disrespecting our whole family! And in front of this girl, too!"

Arash glanced at the girl, before grabbing his brother by the hair.

"Please excuse him." And another glare at his brother. "Come on, Faraz!"

In a way Bel could relate to Arash, her brother Cadfael (Cardiff) was always in charge and taking care of her. She couldn't imagine undermining Cadfael's authority even if he was not the most gentle at times, though he was still very kind to her. But that's where this man and her brother were different, Cadfael always had a reason for scolding her.

This man did not, it wasn't a question of whether who was right but rather raising a hand to a young boy, no matter how spirited. The weird mammal that the boy was playing with earlier, loomed closer, it had the look of a predator which immensely scared her. Bel leaned back, was it really even a smart idea to yell at this boy anyway, when he carried around large striped animals that had very very pretty white teeth?

“Tha-that seems a lil-little un-un-uunnecessary.” Her eyes motioned in nervousness to the low growling tiger. She could tell it's powerful muscles were tensing in it's hunches waiting to pounce. Ringing her hands in worry over the broken out fight and the vicious looking animal. She secretly pleaded for this non-sense to stop

The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty Re: The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

This was exactly the reason why Faraz resisted everything Arash told him to do. Arash demanded respect, but gave none in return. It pissed Faraz off to be subjected to the whims of someone of greater strength. That was possibly the only aspect that both he and his brother had in common. However, Arash lacked the compassion of their father. It was he who instilled a sense of self-preservation in Faraz, to never give up, to surrender to no one. Quite a burden for one child to shoulder , barely out of adolescence, but one Faraz was willing to accept nonetheless. Arash was far stronger than he, but he would wait it out like he always did. Like baba always did.

Faraz's face contorted at the fresh pain that seared from his scalp. Clawing Arash's arm and stumbling to keep up with Arash's long strides, Faraz rubbed the tender flesh of his face. Dark, ugly bruises would appear in a matter of hours. Faraz could have sworn a tooth had come loose. He traced his fingers around his injured skin. "This is all your fault," he muttered to Arash, "you've embarressed youself more so than the family." Faraz's tiger was trotting beside him now, still glowering at Arash for his abuse. No doubt if Faraz wasn't so adept at handling the big cat, it would have mauled the Iranian a long time ago. "You wanted to keep the family together? Hah, good job so far," the boy seethed at Arash, cursing his very existance. Why couldn't Mirza have left with him? Sure, it was selfish of his to think such a thing, but there was just no way that his father would have come within the same hemisphere as his newly disowned son. Faraz just didn't understand why he had to suffer the very indignity of even breathing next to Arash. Life wasn't fair...

"And don't fucking grab my hair!" Faraz angrily swatted the older boy's hand away, desperately wishing that looks really did kill. He turned behind to look at the girl who was now fully clothed. "Are you alright? I'm sorry you had to see that, but Arash doesn't know how to act like he has a functioning brain stem." Faraz patted his tiger's side, finding refuge in the thick, striped fur of the beast. "You can come near him; he won't bite," Faraz grinned a little in spite of himself, "unless I say so, which might be soon if a certain someone won't let go of my hair!"

“I-I-I s-see” She was still nervous, her nerves felt like they were being sawed in half with razor blades. The cat still seemed menacing, having only a small indication of what it was, Bel believed that all big cats that roamed Wales prayed on the flocks off sheep before blending into the night with their black fur. None lived on her island home of course, but Cadfael brought her newspaper clippings from the mainland. Suddenly, she felt something move in her damp pullover, she almost screamed had she not realized it was her pet slow worm clinging to her for warmth. The snake like creature slowly crawled it's way up her neck and around her head. Using her index finger she stroked it's blue spotted head, it must have crawled into her pocket while she left the circus. Bel's slow worm did not like cats but she wondered if that mammal was even a cat?

Still safety was first, Bel encouraged the slow worm to travel north where there would be more direct sunlight. It nestled itself in to her drying hair and all she could do was smile nervously at the boy, “Tha-Thank you-you f-for you-r kind-kindness and un-under-sta-standing.” Bel bowed to the boy, a motion similar to a curtsey. It was so much more relaxing with her little Marconi (the slow worm's name) by her side.

((...I forgot to include her pets :I stupidity seems to run in my very soul))

“Tha-that seems a lil-little un-un-uunnecessary.”

Arash paused, to glare at the girl. Was she telling him how to treat his brother?! Arash was the oldest male in the household, he was in charge of his domestic matters. What gave some outsider- some female outsider the right to tell him what to do?! Arash's face scrunched up. He wanted to shout something at her, to teach her a lesson. He couldn't do that, though. The furious Arash gathered all his self control possible, to move forward, and tug his little brother away.

Did she think Arash was doing a bad job as the man of the household?! Arash glanced at his younger brother's face. There was blood from his nose, and bruises were obviously on their way to formation. Baba never even slapped around his least favourite son, Arash that much or that hard. Did Arash feel guilty? Probably. Arash had troubles controlling his anger. At times, so much was pent up, he had to let it out on something. Arash thought he would have released it when he poisoned the strongman. That just made him feel even worse.

"If you continue to disrespect me, like you're doing now, you'll get worse! You wouldn't treat baba like this, you won't treat me like this!" He was silent for a moment.

"Don't tell the doctor what happened--" Arash snapped, quickly, taking a cautious glance at the tiger. He didn't listen to Faraz's threat, and continued to drag the smaller boy by the hair. His tone died to a whisper. "Or anyone else....And I don't want to see you speaking to this girl again."

The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty Re: The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

Arash did not relinquish his grip on Faraz's hair, infuriating the boy even further. "Did you not just hear a word I said?!" He finally managed to push Arash away, leaving the eldest with a fistful of dark hair. Faraz couldn't have cared less, hell, he could barely even see straight at this point. "I think the doctor would take the hint anyways, you asshole! And you're not baba! Never will be either!" He backed up towards the Welsh girl protectively, "and don't take your bad mood out on her either! She was just trying to be nice!" At this point, the tiger was pacing between Faraz and Arash, a living, fanged embodiment of protectiveness that just dared the older brother to approach.

"And what difference will it make if you beat me more? Do you think I'm not used to it by now?" Faraz wiped the blood from his upper lip, sneering defiantly. "And don't tell me who to talk to. What's it to you if I do?" Faraz knew that Arash was quite unpopular with females, and took advantage of that. Unknowingly did he add fuel to the fire with his accepting dispostion regarding women. "You can barely control yourself, so what makes you think you can control me?"

Faraz was out of Arash's grip, and a chunk of dark hair was in the older one's hands. He threw it to the ground.

"I have as much power over you as our baba ever did! I'm your older brother, and I'm in charge of you now! You have to treat me like you would treat baba!" Arash shouted. He was absolutly furious. Arash always had troubles containing his anger. Ever since his rebellion and disownment he had gotten exponentially worse, especially to his younger brother. There was something about being in charge... Of being in charge of his brother. Arash didn't know what it was, it changed something about him. He had to keep control, but he didn't know how to do that in any ways other than violence. So it would have to be violence that would keep his family safe, and his little brother in line.

"Make your fucking cat let off, Faraz!" So Arash could grab the boy and slap him around, again. If it was a smaller animal Arash would have been able to get rid of it, but it wasn't.

"Listen to me Faraz! You're being an embarrassment! An embarrassment to yourself, to me, to our family!"

Arash's eyes were wild with his passion. Faraz wasn't supposed to be disobeying him like this! Arash only came her to unwind and smoke some opium. Not only was all his opium gone, but he was also more wound up than before. He stared at the Welsh girl.

"You! Grab him and bring him over here!"

The Water Boy [Faraz/Public] Empty Re: The Water Boy [Faraz/Public]

((Sorry I went to sleep :I ))

Blodeuwedd stonily stood staring at the man who barked orders at her, “Y-you ar-are n-not m-my brother.” It was not wise to mess with a resident of flat holm, most were driven crazy by the isolation while others became masters of patience and clarity.(it was hard to discern which category she was) Bel herself had chosen to stay on the island after the hospital had been condemned and she was by all means a survivalist no matter how timid she seemed. She addressed Faraz (ignoring Arash) with an assertive tone “T-Tell m-me, di-di-did y-your Baba g-give y-ou t-the keh-key to- y-our ho-home?” It may seem like a random question to anyone other than someone from a non-Welsh society where children were not give spare keys till they were adults, instead having to let themselves in with keys kept in hiding places around the house. But if Faraz “Baba” (she was assuming his father) gave him the key to his house that meant Faraz was old enough to make his own decisions and therefore above his brother's authority in her eyes.

It was also pivotal that Faraz answer decide her next step, she would resist Arash's word regardless, he seemed like the smugglers and invaders that always thought they could get to Cardiff through Flat holm's location only to meet their untimely demise amongst “the wolves” (a rock formation that surrounding the island). She knew how to handle invaders, she had been trained to defend herself ever since she had been welcomed into the cold embrace of Flat holm. And the big cat that was standing defensively around the boy did know how to as well.

((Flat holmians are trained in hand to hand combat as well as how to operate the island's defenses in times of War. Five residents usually took down boats with thirty armed men on it. SO BRING IT))
