Yesterday afternoon I got a book. :I It is this: http://www.nrhz.de/flyer/media/12137/radio_pmr_cover.jpg

It's a photobook as well as a collection of interviews with citizens and excerpts from the Capitol's propaganda radio station. And I have spent the better part of 2 days with my face in it (It also smells good), reading the english portions, as well as the german portions. It's a fantastic biopic of the breakaway state, exposing the true nature of the people under all of the government red tape and rumor.

Here are some excerpts because I have been dying to dump all this stuff on other people XD

"The inhabitants on the left shore called their enemies on the other side 'Romanians'... in turn, the right shore, no less scornfully, called their former neighbors 'Russians'. The villagers sowed and mowed, took their children to school and their women to the doctor's. And on the way, they fired at each other."

"There were two Moldovan Howitzers close to my house that were firing constantly...I was even ready to go to war myself. But when I called in they told me that there was only one machine gun. I would have to wait until the guy who was operating it was dead." --Vasily Ivanovich Rudyaga, Painter

Story of 'The Man who Died Twice':

"I came to protect Prednestrovie. On 16 March 1992 I was killed near Koshnitsa [by a land mine]. They brought me to the morgue. Then they realized I was still alive so they brought me to the hospital for resuscitation." ...Then one year afterwards he died from kidney failure related to his wounds:I

"It is the latest stage in confusing times. But we live, and only from ourselves. Dawn depends on us. Fight and endure, and fate will be with us. There is no way back." --Aleksandr Lebed, colonel of the 14th Russian army

"Maybe I would describe Pridnestrovie as a kind of 'Little Soviet Union'." --Oksana Vasilievna Besdetnaia, Folk Dancer

"I am Moldovan, but I don't care... Sure, people crack jokes like, 'You are Moldovan, so you must be stupid', but I don't listen...[Because of his hairstyle] They stare and laugh at me and call me a homosexual. It is not easy to be different in Pridnestrovie." --Artiom Nikolaevich Masur, Actor, Musician

"My son Igor was killed in action when he was only 31 years old...My son was on holiday when he heard gunfire in Bendery. The Moldovans had started to shoot at students who were going to senior prom. He called to tell me he had volunteered. I begged him not to. 'You have two children!' I said to him. But he told me: 'Everyone has children and I have to defend them all.'" Two days later he called again and wept,: 'Mama,' He said, 'blood is running on the street like rain'... At the funeral we came under sniper fire...Those solders had no human spark in them." --Olga Vasilevna Moskoglo, Mother of a killed soldier

...but don't get it wrong, the governent is still selling weapons illegally. :I I'm just nto sure anymore that the people know it. :I

Well, reading that resulted in a chronic case of sadface :C /trying not to cry

It seems like I'm not the only one who found books about their OC's Smile Today I was in my university's library (after AP classes XD) and found TWO INCH THICK BOOK ON ANCIENT MACEDON. JUST MACEDON. MACEDON. I cried, but silently and joyfully. <333 Oh, and they also had a book the same length on "the Persian Empire and the West" B) inb4 Arash bitchfest

ffff and I found a book on "Southern culture" written by some guy in Texas about SC. It could basically be summed up as "incestuous, alcoholic, racist, overweight, violent, gambling, bible thumpers." Sad thing is, that's almost true for most people I know :I /sobs

It's especially great when I can find a book on Transnistria that isnt about its role in ww2. XD because the rest of the internet info is so biased by both sides it takes a ton of descriminating to separate probable fact from propaganda. XD

And you're not the only one, lmao. I read this book at not a good time of the month (if you get my drift :I) and i have cried on this book, fallen asleep on it, woken up and cried some more, and the cycle went on. I cried the most at a page on the shoe company Floare, idk why, it wasn't sad at all. XD

ALSO I KEEP FORGETTING TO SAY SO even though its not important. Growing up, I always thought Dinosaurs came from Macedonia because "Macedon" reminds me of "Mastodon" :I

Oh dear God, that is exactly what happens when I search for stuff on Mace ;A; It's always a shitstorm of "MACE IS GREEK NO ITS NOT BITCHBITCHBITCHXINFINITY" My daily routine on the internet :l

And once again, I was the same way reading "The Rise and Fall of Alexandria". It was just too much, emotionally, for me to bear. Reading about how one of the most learned and outspoken cities degenerated into poverty due to religious power struggles and political vendettas made me cry for Alexandria. Like Mace, the city could have been greater but politics and greed overtook reason.

FFFFFFFF She's as old as the dinosaurs if that counts XD Semi-relevant: When I was little, I used to think that Venice and Vienna were the same place. "OH MAN I LOVE VIENNA SAUSAGES LOLOLOL GONDOLAS AW YIS" ...I was such a little failure in Geography. :I

Lololol I know how that is XD

Facts?:
Moldova wants to be independent.
Moldova wants to rejoin Romania.
Moldovan is not Romanian.
Moldovans are not Romanians.
Transnistrians are not Moldovans.
Transnistria belongs to Moldova.
Transnistria belongs to Ukraine.
Transnistria belongs to Moldova.
Ukraine has blockaded transnistria, all goods have to be validated with Moldovan stamps.
But Transnistria has nothing to do with Moldova. :I

THESE ARE 'FACTS'.

ONE BIG "HE SAID, SHE SAID" :I

FFFFFF Vienna sausages are so yummy B)
The funny part is Transnistria blockaded Ukraine right back, like, "OH YEAH, TAKE THAT--" but it doesn't really matter. XD
