A New Beginning (Basque/Open)

Post  Error_404 on Sun May 29, 2011 9:45 pm

((OH HAI OPPY DRAGGED ME BACK SORTA KINDA))

Sometimes people just lost their jobs, and thats really what happened to her. It wasn't exciting, and it was just a little upsetting to have to deal with. Berezi sighed lightly, knocking on the door that she had been told to. Apparently it would take someone from inside here to approve the idea of her working here. This was her last resort, seeing as she really did not desire to have to go crawling back to anyone to ask for support. She wanted to live on her own without anyone else controlling her. The carnival could offer that, couldn't it?

She knocked again, louder this time, waiting for the door to open. The hell was taking this person so long? Berezi leaned back, puffing her cheeks in impatience. If they didn't come sooner she was getting ready to chuck something heavy at the door, that would probably prove her qualifications and would get their attention, lazy bastard.

(bahaha, I already have 2 posts, but w/e hoping in here, I don't want to do hw.)

Auguste didn't feel like working today, no, he felt rather sad today, actually. Some nostalgia had managed to grasp over him, after he had opened a certain wine. It was his sister's favourite, and he didn't even remember until he took a sip of it. The memories of those get togethers with his favourite person invaded his mind. So he moved the books and papers and instruments to the side, to begin a letter.

But then someone knocked on the door.

He groaned. Nobody could punish him for not being busy, but people would appreciate him more if he seemed to be constantly busy. So he shoved the premature letter into the desk, and rearranged his equipment, and made himself seem like he was working.

"Please, let yourself in!" the very thick accent of the Frenchman called out, with a smile. Hopefully this wouldn't be about work. Maybe if he was lucky, it would be one of his women.

She blinked at the response, more specifically the accent, but moved to open the door of the car. Inside was a man, who seemed to be a wreck in her opinion. He was shuffling papers around, and had an open bottle of wine. She tried to peek around to look at the wine, curious to if it was a decent brand or not. At seeing it was up to her standards she nodded a little bit, contemplating whether letting herself in counted as opening the door or actually entering the car. After all, the car did seem somewhat askew to say the least

Berezi decided that letting herself in was getting into the car, otherwise she was still outside right? If it was messy, that was his fault, not hers. She sighed, climbing up into the car, brushing herself off a little bit," I was wondering if I could get a job. Either as a strong-woman or as a chef. I'm competent enough for both. If I have to, I can prove it."

The brunette looked around for a place to sit, but at not seeing anywhere she simply leaned against the wall. If he said no, she wasn't entirely sure what else she would do at this point. Although, he did seem somewhat familiar, but it was probably just because he sounded French. He seemed to be rather miserable now that she could see him up close though. Hopefully that wouldn't influence his choice.

And it was about work. Someone wanted work. His forced smile dropped with little thought. Couldn't they have handled this woman themselves, up in the front. Auguste had made it clear that they were budget cutting. Getting rid of money meant getting rid of people. If anything, they did not want more people.

"We're not hiring." he snapped, not even needing to look up. The Frenchman got back to work, waving a hand towards the door.

But when she didn't respond as quickly as he liked, he had to look up. The scowl died away, and some look of surprise overcame his face. Auguste rarely displayed too much emotion, but this could not be helped. The woman here... She was a friend of Auguste's father! How did she even get here? A wide smile- not a smooth and charming smile, but a wide and real smile ran across his face.

"You... you're Berezi, Francis' friend!?" He got up quickly to pull both a seat and a wineglass from the kitchen, after clearing some papers, and placing them down on the desk, he went to both hug, and kiss the family friend (if you could call her that.) "Please, please sit- ah, do you remember me...?" he paused, pointing a finger to himself. She probably didn't, Auguste was just some child of an extra-maritial relationship. He met with his father on occasion, but mostly, he was forgotten. Really, it was only after his seperation from his father's name, that he really gained any prominence. His father had so many children...children like Auguste running around, that it was probably easy for her to forget him. And anyways, Auguste used to look so different, then. Chances were slim that he would be recognized, but maybe not...?
