A coach from 8:45 pm leaves the dust every morning, leaving you in a city that also has a train which travels all along the coast, from there you take a weekly steamer that leaves you in Bristol, England which is just a one quick ferry ride away from Cardiff and her home. Eleri would alert Cadfael with explicit instructions the previous morning to gather his things and also tell him to gather Bel. The three would help Eleri out of the tank at 6:30 (Which was the time that everyone who came to view the freak show had left and the beautifuls were served their food. so no one would be wandering around.) Running over to the other side of the circus Bel would take a box of matches and light one of the tents on fire and run out front. Cadfael with his wire cutters which he was given as an on the job tool would be used to cut through the fence. He would then take the errand truck and load Eleri on the back covered in dirty clothes (which no one would want to root through thoroughly) and stuff into a large suitcase. And pick up Bel at the side gate and while everyone was being evacuated out the main gate, and they would drive off in to the dust. She mused that Bel would've been considerate and packed a dozen jars of stolen drinking water and a few fish sandwiches for her to munch on the way there. Eleri had gone over her escape root one thousand and one times in her times in her head and as she sat on this diving board staring done at her tank sixty-five meters below she had gone over her plan one thousand and two times in her head. She truthfully didn't mind the jump, she had done this hundreds of times make in her home land where cliffs were steep and the waters much colder.

It was just she couldn't get her mind off of everything this week, the taunts and ridicule from the crowd, the inhuman treatment, the names that cut deeper than they should. Her hands were off the diving board now and as she leaned forward seemingly falling before doing a clean somersault in the air. All she could think of is the dead ringmaster who promised he would fix her if she kept up the shows, and the hoops which she had to jump through. It was his magic afterall, healing, he could fix a broken birds wing with the touch of his little finger. She was just now accepting the reality with him dead that their previous agreement was now null and void. Her focus wasn't with her however and her head hit the water, she did the best she could to pull out before she hit the bottom of the tank and thankfully she had managed to pull it off like it was intentional. Dazedly she heard the stagehands clapping (as this was practice and not the event planned) so she must've looked fantastic. Vaguely she wondered what was keeping her here now that nothing was left for her here, no one was going to save her in the way that she wanted now. She raised her hand above her head and looked at in the light. How nice would've have been to be finally rid of this illness.

As much as Franze didnt like being near the 'untouchables', a deity couldn't keep his subjects in check without a few shows of force. She stood off in a corner, flanked on both sides by a bodyguard.

Normally in these situations, the two guards carried a nightstick or a whip. Those didn't work very well in water. Just for Eleri (how lucky) they carried electrified metal rods. Almost like an early precursor to the taser. Someone in the animal cars had gone missing, she'd heard. Maybe this woman knew something about it.

Eleri had looked over lazily at the new arrivals, she almost felt like laughing at Franze, she thought she could intimidate her with body guards carrying electrified metal sticks. She never directly address any beautiful and she wasn't about to start now. She only smiled at her, reveling all of her pointy white teeth, Franze thought she was in charge, thought she could lead this circus to greatness. But in reality she was just holding a ticking time bomb in her hands waiting for a melt down. The dead rigleader, secretly inspired the more rebellious of freaks to stay in line, if the smarmy girl only thought she could scare the already desperate she was in going to be bitten back hard.

No, the blond fortune-teller was not fit to lead anything in this circus, she only commanded respect, like it was some sort of toy. Once she let her guard down people would turn on her faster than she could blink.

After a little bitof hesitation, she walked up to the tank, leaving the guards behind.

She didn't really want to look this... Thing in the eye, but it was a part of the business. "Grüß Gott," She greeted, trying to keep herself civil. "I hear something happened the other day. We lost a..." Think of a better word than an investment. "a friend a day ago. Youknow anything about that?"

Franze attempted a smile, but it just seemed condescending.

Eleri was actually mildly surprised she had left her guards behind expecting to coerce her in to speaking. The young mermaid almost felt sorry for the girl because she would get absolutely nothing out of her except maybe a blank stare and a nonchalant shrug. But it quickly evaporated when she noticed the almost pained expression when Franze tried to smile and make eye contact. She was tempted to spray a gallon of water at her but realized it would be unnecessary trouble at this point. Simply she just stared blankly for a few seconds and shoke her head “no.” She did in fact know what happened to the freak in question, as she watched her be “kidnapped” the other day. But couldn't care less about the girl in the least, she wasn't that much of an attraction compared to some others, and she just didn't have the thick skin to last long in this sort of lifestyle she would've probably died within the year. So it was safe to say she was in a better place now. But she still wasn't going to tell this beautiful that, she really didn't even think Franze cared that much except for the fact someone ran away and undermined her “authority” over this circus.

Franze would not lose her composure in front of these people.

In truth, she was stretched so thin one might have wondered how her makeup hid all the stress. She had taken control and no one acknowledged it. She was weak and she knew it. At least she had some people on her side-- Auguste-- he loved her (or so she thought) and Djuro was loyal after his promotion.

She got even closer and pounded her delicate fist on the glass, eyes frantic as she hissed, "I know you do-- you were out then, your shows were done. Your tank was facing the hole in the fence--"

She had to stop when she realized she was losing her inside voice. Blinking and swallowing a few times, she said sweetly, "What would it take for you to tell me what you know?"

Unknowingly Franze had broken her cardinal rule, NEVER TAP THE GLASS! She stared blankly at the raging drama queen before thinking of how she could respond. Eleri could drag Vienna into her little glass bubble in order not to get zapped by those lovely metal sticks before she beat the shit out of her but inevitably die in the end. Or she could give in to Franze request as painfully as possible. Deciding the latter was definitely the safer and more hilarious option, Eleri broke her second cardinal rule, NEVER TALK TO A BEAUTIFUL OR AUTHORITY to make the most outrageous demand she could ever think of.

There was always something she wanted yet could never have, it haunted her every night like a distant memory that had long been forgotten. She wanted a harp, but it wasn't just any harp in her dreams something about it was special, because it looked so different than the one given she was given back home. (Truthfully her parents just wanted her to leave them alone). Eleri struggled to pull the name from her memory but there was just something so memorable about it that it felt like a shame to forget. Suddenly the name flooded to her brain like a high tide breaking away a cliff. Pressing her face closer to the glass she solemnly said “A harp....A triple harp.”

A what.

She was expecting her to ask for her freedom or something absolutely ridiculous like that.

Crossing her arms and swaying for a moment in thought, she clicked her tongue and looked back up at the Welsh woman. "Fine-- fine. We will find one when we can." It wasn't often one just came upon instruments of any kind in places like this.

But that didn't really mean she would try.

"So tell me. Who took the girl?" She owed her that then, right?

Eleri really didn't believe Franze would keep up her end of the bargain, in fact she almost knew that wouldn't be the case. The gears turned in her head, oh she would give the drama queen her information all right. She nonchalantly leaned back against the other end of her tank and picked her claws. Offering only “Men took her.” she smirk at Vienna reveling her two rows of sparkling white pointed teeth. “If you want more information, I want our agreement in written in triplicate stating that I give you this information now if you promise to get me my harp. With at least two witnesses present and a notary. Don't give me that look I know you have a notary on the pay roll in the office. I want one copy sent to me, One copy sent to the office, and one copy for you to keep.”

Her nanny didn't raise no fool, her high-class nanny insisted she learn all the finer points of being born to an affleuent family even if she was born a mutant. ((imagine the Roman empire being her wet nurse before turning to Eleri's mother and asking her if she reproduced with a fish/shot down forever.)) He said it would come in handy one day but she just thought he wanted to be paid for the extra-services this entailed. But low and behold it did maybe for the first time in her life.

((Behold the shrewd bussiness-fish-women and her amazing bartering skills~))

Well, look at that-- the bitch knew something.

Franze thought about it for a moment... And then nodded her head. "Well well... Where did you learn that? I guess I have to agree. I'll get them for you."

She grinned as sweetly as she could, and turned on her heel, walking back to the bodyguards and muttering, "She's too smart, take away her books."

Men had taken their disaster girl? Not a good sign-- and what was she even good for, in a man's eyes, anyway? She was hideous. Oh well. She would find out more soon enough.

She wanted to laugh at the young austrian woman even more now, she thought that she kept any of her valuable books in the animal car. Those in the car right now were just copies and scraps of paper torn from stolen books the really valuable ones were kept in Cardiff's room. Still she must keep up this facade that Vienna still had some power over her or she would retaliate harder.
“NO! you can't do that!” she banged against the glass like her life was on the line before Vienna left the tent. At which time she just smirked beneath her viel of hair, waiting for her to return with their agreement papers. Perhaps this would be more interesting after all.
