/sob, I was thinking of Elena today, so I discussed heart surgeries with my half-sister (a nurse practitioner). And I mentioned before that the sternum is cracked open? It doesn't grow back together. I did not know this, previously. They wrap wire around it and let the cartilidge 'kind of' grow back. And I was like ":( :( :( /weep forever for Ukrainian children"

I like it from the back, personally. Besides that it's a hard angle to draw from, it also gives it a sort of enigmatic feel that makes it more engaging to look at. ...In my opinion, anyways. XD

Sonya is that mother that collapses in the store with the bags strewn everywhere, except with copious amounts of crying added in. ...Actually, the roles are probably reversed: she starts crying in the store, and it's the kid that calms her down. XD

(You will be so fucked when you travel with me, because I am far harsher than any security measures when it comes to touching things. FFFF it's still surprisingly bright here XD but that's how it is here for some reason, the change from light to dark is like turning off a light switch XD but I still don't know how people would live in a place that never gets dark for part of the year XD

It's actually pretty nice, the white nights; you can walk around in the evening and at night without feeling afraid (a great thing, when you're on vacation). But...then in the winter, it's dark all the time, and I cannot imagine a more depressing thing when the winters in question are Russian. :I XD

(lol, in the Hermitage, we saw a Venus of Cnidus sculpture, and a lady was taking a picture with it covering it's breasts--her hands were hovering over it, but I still heard this screaming in my head: "YOU'RE TOO CLOSE--!!" /shot I have to obey the signs, otherwise bad things will happen. XD Like when we were touring a Soviet military ship-turned-small-musuem, there were two staircases to go below deck, but the first one we passed was actually the exit. It was hot outside, though, and it didn't matter in this particular musuem which direction you viewed the exhibits in, so my parents just went down that one. But I couldn't. Because it said 'exit'. So I separated myself from my parents to go find the proper entrance: :I My dad got angry. /shot XD)

FFFF I just imagined life before electricity there. SO DEPRESSING-- no wonder Rashkolnikov decided to see if he could take a life-- at least then something would be different about the day-to-day-- /shot XD (even though I'm sure they had some electricity by then--)

(To be fair, half the stuff at this museum had no markings on it. XD Another quarter (old furniture) actually held other artifacts in or on it, and then the last quarter had "do not touch" signs on it. LMAO I like to make sure I've seen all of the sections of the floors in a museum, but the one we went to (my favorite B)) just blended them seamlessly through the hallways, so when you went back to the court to see what you were going to do next from the signs on the entrances, you go in to look at ethiopian iconography (so cute. so, so cute) and then you realize you already went through it through the byzantine iconography section. Then I feel very disappointed because it lessens the experience. Somehow. XD)
