About The Carnival
In this world there exists two carnivals-
Carnival Mistique - A visually appeasing circus with beautiful people everywhere your eye may look. Grande and pleasing you wander deeper and deeper down the rabbit's hole, possessed. There you will find the dark underbelly known as the freakshow, gawking you will see the most amazing oddities of the world. Often they are mistreated by there more luxurious and enchanting counterparts. But beneath those fake porcelain faces lies truly ugly people, waiting to trick and deceive. Praying on the meek.
Alternatively there is the motley crew of ragtags that are much more friendly and warm-hearted. They fulfill a sense of nostalgia that only a circus on a shoe-string budget could have. Mostly the group consists of runaways and ex-convicts people who are looking for a home. It's true that they don't have the pure and refined shock and awe factor of Carnival Mistique but they do have rare talents that only a handful can achieve in their lifetime.
---
Those who are born as freaks or with genetic defects are not able to blend in well with society and therefore are forced to find homes elsewhere. Most who've tried end up as horrifying acts in the Freakshow but those of a stronger will sometimes make it to the ragtags. Though they can not take everyone they are a much better option than the Carnival Mistique where you will spend your life little more than an indentured servant. They contrast the the beautiful people at the carnivals and they often have powers related to physical attributes.
Those who are born with NO physical defects generally tend to blend better depending on the personality of said person. They are treated better in town and have much less to worry about, however this causes a slight resentment in those born with genetic defects and often the freaks tend to pick fights as passive or non-passive aggressively as they can. But it is certain each individual has a power unique to his or her own person. (though it's just not physical).
The stage hands are the completely normal ones, they usually do not take part in the shows but instead take care of the needs of those that do. Not many volunteer their lives to do so but those that do usually have excellent reasons.
