Role in Carnival and how it relates to the history of your character:

With the constant rain in Wales as well as the looming cliffs and seas Eleri has developed deformities to adapt to her climate. Iconically she is known for her red scales scattered around her body (symbolism of the Welsh dragon) and her clawed webbed fingers (Similar to that of the Maritime Sea Horse that has adorned the crests of Welsh nobility before they died out.) Due to the malformation at her birth her ankles are also fused together making it hard for her to walk and her skin is unusually dry on land so she prefers to stay in water. But she makes for a strong swimmer she awes the crowd with her stunning movements and odd features. She also has the ability to hold her breath underwater for a vast amount of time which helps to practice the age old tradition of song (in Wales) at the bottom of her tank.

Special personal items: Her cane which helps her walk on land, Her books of proses which a stage hand props in front of her tank to read, and her costume mermaid fin which hides her deformity

Anything Else: She does not socialize with any of the other main attractions, instead she only openly talks to her fellow mutants. She may spit water in to the face of a person she doesn't like.

AU Background history*
Eleri was born the daughter and half-sister to a very affluent family, however when her physical deformities became apparent she was cast aside for her brothers. She was raised in a far shore-side cottage by caretakers who didn't quite know what to do with her. Often she would cry to go to the beach and play in the water which she had an unnatural affinity for. Till her parents died she was content but afterward her brother issued in a new rule of tyranny and was going to send her to a nunnery in secret. It is uncertain how she escaped but when asked she usually cracks an wide toothy grin reveling her slightly sharper than normal teeth. Stranded in the dust after being thrown from a moving train heading to the ocean she floundered like a beach whale (derrp). The mistique who happened to be wandering by saved her in return for her life. In indebted she bids her time till she can escape.........
